Attorney Cardo is the Supervising Attorney at the Law Offices of Johanna Herrero, Miami Branch. She was born in Cuba and came to the United States when she was 10 years old. Her immigrant roots and strong appreciation for the law makes her a strong support system for the firm’s client base. As a Cuban American, she is able to relate the clients and their struggles. She is a 2016 graduate of Suffolk University Law School, in Massachusetts, where she graduated Cum Laude. Attorney Cardo attended Florida International University as an undergraduate. She joined the firm with extensive experience with USCIS and EOIR, from her former internship at the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor is (OPLA), within the Department of Homeland Security.
Attorney Cardo manages the firm’s Miami branch, handles and appears before the EOIR and USCIS. She has particular expertise in the immigration processes, including Provisional Unlawful Presence Waivers, Waivers of Inadmissibility, Adjustment of Status, Naturalization, Asylum, Cancellation of Removal for Permanent Residents and Non-Permanent Residents, Bonds, Motions and Memorandums before the Executive Office for Immigration Review, as well as Appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals. She also focuses on U visas, as well as VAWA applications. She has also represented the firm’s younger clients through the Special Immigrant Juvenile process in Massachusetts Probate and Family Court as well as before USCIS and EOIR.
Attorney Cardo has participated in national broadcasts in Univision discussing complex topics in Immigration law, as well as commercial features in Telemundo Boston and Naples. She has also served as the Attorney Host of a weekly program “Inmigracion al Momento” in Miami’s Caracol and Actualidad Radio Stations. Attorney Cardo also participates in weekly Facebook Live Broadcasts in an effort to communicate with a broader national audience. She has also provided legal advice at the General Consulate of Guatemala, in Miami, Florida.
